As an Application Engineer at BG, you would be responsible for the direct oversight of a project's automation implementation including, but not limited to, controller selection, valve/sensor selection, CAD work, graphics, programming, and commissioning of the installed system.  Throughout a project's completion, our Application Engineers manage the selection and coordination of any installing contractors, specifically electricians and programmers. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Design development including drawings and installation scopes of work.
  • Develop energy-efficient programming and user-friendly graphics.
  • Responsible for the assessment and troubleshooting of all BAS platforms, specifically Tridium and Trane.
  • Responsible for the assessment and troubleshooting of all BAS communication protocols, specifically LON, BacNet, and Modbus.
  • Serve as the Project Manager of work development and coordination of temperature controls specific sub-contractors.
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic HVAC mechanical and control problems.
  • Train our customers on their new BAS System
  • Strive to increase project efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Associates Degree in similar fields or extensive installation and programming background
  • Experience in Controls Applications Engineering in the design and programming of BAS Automation Temperature Control Systems preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong knowledge of Controls Engineering Fundamentals and application concepts
  • Strong knowledge of commercial building HVAC & Electrical systems
